| Liz Miller, president of Summit Place Financial Advisors, says today's unexpectedly bad reading of unemployment claims has failed to jar Wall Street, because the market is no longer unconvinced about economic growth. "We've got a lot of other indicators that the general trend of the economy is on track. We know that employment is a lagging indicator. The numbers themselves at this point don't change any of those conclusions." But Miller points out that the market also is not really reacting to strong earnings reports. She tells Andrew O'Day "the question is 'How much of the earnings reports have the markets already digested?'" |
